Unearth

To “UNEARTH” is to examine your inner thoughts, bring feelings to the surface, and embrace the opportunity to change your perspective. Changing your perspective can open the door to finding your strength and breaking free of what no longer serves you.

When life gets difficult, we look for a way out of the pain.

All animals, including humans, are hard-wired to avoid pain.

Because pain is uncomfortable, we look for things that will stop it, numb it, or push it away; isolating, overworking, drinking, overeating, excessive screen time, sleeping too much…

We turn to these behaviors and distractions because they feel good temporarily – even though they might be harmful to us.

Instead, facing our discomfort, feeling our pain, and allowing ourselves to reflect on our feelings can actually open us up to a clearer understanding of ourselves and our environment; what we want and what we need.

Emotions are like a river – ever-changing.

They can be fleeting, constant, complex, and transformative. Emotions are connected to your physical sensations, moving you in one direction or another.

They help us avoid danger and make decisions. They can motivate us to act and respond to our environment. Our emotions can also provide us with meaningful ways of interacting with others.

Emotions are neither good nor bad. However, if we get stuck in them and cannot move through them, these very normal feelings can negatively affect our physical and mental health. Getting stuck in sadness can become depression; anxiety can turn into panic; anger may become hostility.

In time, overwhelming stress can lead to increased stress hormones, headaches, fatigue, stomach upset, and compromised sleep.

The journey within…

Self-care is at the heart of good health.

Self-care is anything you do to take care of yourself and is unique to every person. It is essential to stay physically, mentally, and emotionally well. Practicing self-care can help you increase productivity, foster resilience, become better equipped to manage stress, and live longer.

But in times of stress, self-care is the first thing we tend to neglect.

Think of therapy as a form of self-care.

When you feel lost, overwhelmed, or uncertain, therapy can be your guide to the answers buried within.

Practicing self-care can help us increase productivity, foster resilience, manage stress, and live longer.

Therapy as a form of self-care connects you to the capable, calm, confident person that is your True Self.

Like all-self care, therapy is an investment in yourself with far-reaching effects: resiliency, flexibility, self-awareness, gratitude, hope…

Knowledge gained in therapy continues to grow over time, giving you the freedom to know yourself and break free of what has held you back.

Are you ready to unearth a life worth celebrating?

Let us help you face the shame, fear, anger, disappointment that lies beneath the surface.

“True healing is not the fixing of the broken,
but the rediscovery of the unbroken.”
